Full disclosure, I am kind of a knife snob. I have had an Ultratech since 2016. I liked the knife, but hated the proprietary screws. I rotated the Ultratech, but favored carrying a small Chris Reeve Sabenza 21 off work and a large Sebenza 21 with g10 inlay at work always with a companion SAK Pioneer. I misplaced my Ultratech and contacted Microtech for a replacement. Seth S. responded to my email and sent me the links to current comparable models. He sent me more links when I wasn’t sure about some of the options. I settled on this model and he took care of the sale. I remembered at the last minute I wanted the clip left handed and this model arrived left handed as requested a few days later. Seth S. was very helpful in making the selection.
The knife/experience
1. It is perfect fit/finish 2. They posted a maintenance video on YouTube to teach you how to take care of it, and service it in the field if need be. Of course they offer you the chance to return it if you don’t feel confident in doing that 3. No proprietary screws. 4. Like a Chris Reeve Sabenza they want you to take it apart and clean it. 5. Great materials used from handle materials, coatings, to blade steel 6. Zero blade play is for real locks up as tight or tighter than most folders 7. Updated deployment system with the dual springs and larger button. 8. Veteran or first responder discount is offered. 9. You can feel the quality when you hold it, deploy it, and close it. I saw on line a guy complaining about the button being stiff, but to me it is stiff to be safe and not accidentally deploy. You are also overcoming the dual springs for a rapid positive deployment. It is like game recognizing game it is just a nice piece. You just know it’s quality as soon as you touch it. 10. And probably the main reason I bought the knife is the customer service I received. I have two other variants on the way.
