The SOCOM has always been the premiere go-to knife amongst most knife enthusiasts. As a combat infantryman, the design of the SOCOM is very well suited for a wide variety of cutting tasks, as well as excellent offensive/defensive capabilities. I owned my first SOCOM in the summer of 2000, and since then, it's always been a staple in my collection! While I always slightly favored the tanto, the addition of the spear point has been, without question, my personal favorite blade shape. You'll have to decide whether having such a fine point is suitable for your needs, but that's why I always carry a separate knife for utility, and my spear point for defense. As for the finish, I love the fact that the crew at Microtech can let loose their artistic side, and produce patterns that not only have artistic qualities, but carry light camouflage attributes as well! I will highly treasure this knife for years to come, and graciously pass it on to my son!
