Just received this knife in the mail today. This thing is a BEAST. I always pictured the Scarab as smaller, but yeah I dare say the handle seems a bit beefier than the Combat Troodon. The blade appears to be about the same size as the CT tho.
What sort of shocked me was the absence of any kind of markings whatsoever (other than "Scarab II" on the blade and a laser etched, blacked out Scarab beetle on the pocket clip). No Serial number, no birth month/year, no blade metal used, no Microtech logos at all to be found.
But anyway, yeah what can be said, really? It's a Microtech. That says it all. Quality/fit/finish appears flawless. I will say the blade deployment/retraction on this knife is really smooth and almost effortless compared to a couple other Micro's I own.
I'm so glad I finally own a Scarab. Wanted one for probably 10 years or more.
To quote the great Ferris Bueller: "It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up."
