Been looking for a knife that I could use traveling from state to state, country to country, and not worry if the blade is legal. Useing my outdoor knives could be an illegal knife in certain areas. With that in mind I wanted an all around kitchen knife. Looking at other brands came across this knife and liked the blade design. It looked very similar to a knife known as a station knive, in which I liked. The santoku knife was a better length for my needs, better price, and a better design. Not seeing any reviews for the knife on line, YouTube, or anywhere else I took a chance and order it. Once I received it, I was pleasantly surprised. The look, the weight, the feel most everything about it is nice. The only improvement I would suggest is to make the handle a little larger to fill the hand a bit more. Speaking of the handle, Microtech took great care and made sure there was no sharp edges and smooth no hot spots, and comfortable. The handle's G-10 is very grippy and feels nice. I would have still made it a little thicker. The edge of the blade is extremely sharp out of the box and looks to be easy to maintain. It has enough of a point to pierce and is thin enough to be very slicey. It is thick enough to be able to chop and do most any food prep jobs. Not 100% sure of the blade material, but that is a story in it self. This is on the higher end of knives and seems to be able to perform like it. Only time will tell. Only had it for a few days, so let's see in a few months to a year. If you are thinking about it, GET IT.
