The new Microtech LUDT evokes the classic UDT style with revolutionary updates to the form and function of its predecessor. The new LUDT looks and feels familiar while incorporating quite a few innovative changes. This iteration of our powerful automatic folder sees the return of inlays, providing optimal grip. The new LUDT rides on 24 silica carbide bearings, providing the smoothest action yet. Common Torx screws allow for ease of maintenance and the tip-up carry clip gives users security and quick access to this sturdy, water-resistant folder.

Blackout LUDT Gen III

Awesome out the side folder that performs to the highest standards. Blackout with gripping and a snappy deploy to ensure easy access and cutting ability when needed. Highly recommended.

M390MK is simply too chippy.

This knife is great, and would be a 5 star easily if it used a steel more suitable for cutlery. M390MK and M390 are just too chippy for even light use. Case in point, I used a brand new LUDT to simply carve a feather stick at a campfire yesterday, and carve a point into a stick to simulate a tent stake, the LUDT superfine edge had micro chips from those 2 light uses.

Second time this happened from Microtech with this steel. Honestly they would fare better with a steel like VG-10 that does not get micro chips. If they want to go air hardening, go A2 tool steel, it doesn't suffer from micro chips either.
